MODERNIZATION IN INDIA ??

                      

What is MODERNIZATION? Is there a special key to open the lock of modernization? But above all these my main center of interrogative dilemma is WHETHER INDIA IS MODERN OR NOT?? Priory giving my views on modernization lets know what id modernization. Modernization in Hindi means "NAVIKARAN" simply meaning "NEWMODIFICATIONS". Modernization is a big word hence very monotonous due to repetition so to make it quick and easy to read and tell i will address the word "modernization" by "navi". As we all know that India is a huge yet versatile country filled its homes with colors of joy, affection, festivals, cultures and traditions but as we even know that every coin has two sides to it India has unfortunately rented many rooms for over population, pollution , corruption and crime. But above all this is navi a part of India??

                               I will regret if I say a YES it’s because there are many aspects which should be kept in mind and must be keenly observed before giving the tag or label of "NAVI”, a few of the essential aspects include crime rate, divorce rates, illiteracy rate, infant mortality rates, murders, rapes, women power, corruption in a country. If I consider these issues then I will firmly stand by my verdict. To be précised navi has influenced only the youth and has its roots stemmed among them. But it’s the fault of the youth only because they have misunderstood the meaning of navi a.k.a modernization even after their consistent endeavoring to become modern. Its only because navi according to their thinking is wearing micro mini, heavy wrist watches, branded wardrobe, smoking ,indulging into alcohol or going out with friends for a night out. Is this only what we call navi is??? Do we expect the same from our siblings or parents??? What if one night our father's walk out of the door at mid night and say to us "Achcha main apne dosto ke saath ghoomne ja raha hu kal suba tak aaunga" or one morning we wake up and see our mother's smoking and enjoying her scotch or whisky?? If we don’t' want this navi to be a part of our loved ones then we will only have to halt its wrong utilization.

                                  

I strongly stick to my opinion as I have not only witness the lack of knowledge of navi in the youth but even goggled it. According to a survey around 5,000 students commit suicide because of peer pressure or a heart break in their teen affair. In India at present Delhi has 12,000 divorce cases, Kerala being the literate state has been facing an increasement in divorce cases by 350% in last 10years and Mumbai shot up to 4,138 cases. On the contrary in the past 20years ago merely 5% of divorce cases were filled in India. This is the bitter truth of India. These are a few issues rose to height only because of misinterpreting the meaning of a word which has not only been affecting the country but also the lives of the coming future of India.

                                  In spite of all these the most undigesting fact is that the navi is affecting the relations as well in India. Nowadays, the trend a.k.a fashion of making a boy/girlfriend is at the peak. If one does not have a boy/girlfriend they are considered to be unnavi(unmodernized).Who is a boy/girlfriend? Does consisting one make anyone modern?? If you ask me then I will say a NO. It’s simply because boyfriend is just not a two letter word it has more meaning to it. A boyfriend is someone with whom a girl is involved mentally, emotionally and most essentially physically. The label of a boy/girlfriend cannot be given to any sibling or parents even though they are our friend and male/female. It’s because there is a very thin line which differs the difference between a boy/girlfriend and a boy+friend, girl+friend: the line of physical intimacy. When a girl is happy she give a tight hug to her friend, family members' and might even kiss then on their cheeks or forehead but she can show the same affection to her boyfriend by kissing him on his lips which cannot be done with any other person and its vice-versa for a girlfriend. I asked a few friends of mine who have girl/boyfriend that why do you make a boy/girlfriend? They simply replied me by saying that having someone special makes them feel special and finish their loneliness. When I questioned again asking what difference does it make on making a boy/girlfriend? They said that it becomes easy to understand each other and they have a person with whom they can talk at any point of time.

         After the conversation I came to a conclusion that we are giving the label of “navi" to our loneliness by making a boy/girlfriend. If we really want to feel special then we must take a step forward and look around us at the people who are disabled, orphan or sexually harassed by their ancestors and talking about loneliness siblings are the best way to get rid of such emptiness and animals and books are considered to be the best friends of one. The only key to navi a.k.a modernization is open thinking/broad minded thinking. India is at present facing filthy crime and corruption cases which have led to international embarrassment. The development is taking its place but only on the brands and living lifestyles of the upper class people and on the contrary the below poverty line people and the middle class people are facing the same issues. Navi is an essential part of every human being and we all have a different eye for seeing it. India is way far from being modern but yes it is stemming its roots among the youth but the concept of navi and its true meaning must be kept in front of the youth.

                                     People in India do state themselves to be modern but only on the basis of their branded wardrobe, in-fashion hairstyle or gold chains. But when these people only look at two opposite sexes walking or talking together it’s them only who scream at the top of their voices and pass comments, which clearly states that up to what extent they are modern or literate. The taboo yet very very essential workshops on sex, child sexual abuse, dowry or female feticide are hidden from the youth on the contrary parents run from their children rather than going to their children and opening up about the "teen sexual issues". Due to this negligence the youth gets themselves into inappropriate places with inappropriate people. Whereas in America such workshops are held in schools and even parents can easily go down the stairs to their parents and talk about their issues. There are doctors and consultants simultaneously present in the colleges and schools for any query on any topic or dilemma. The emphasis and utilization on the equipment’s or instruments used for being modern must come to an end and on the contrary focus on getting the ladder of navi (modernization)  and take a step forward bar by bar and create many new technologies for our country INDIA then India will truely be a countey modern on the basis of its thinking and technologies.
